Night School Breaks A Reacher Record

Lee Child's 21st novel in the Jack Reacher series Night School is No 1 for the 5th consecutive week. 

This is the longest period that Lee has stayed at the No 1 spot.

His previous record was for 4 consecutive weeks at No 1 with Never Go Back, which was released as a film starring Tom Cruise this year.

Our wonderful Children's author Helen Grant has been chosen as a cultural representative as part of her city's bid to be the City of Culture in 2021. 

The public nominated creative practitioners whom they consider to be "Perth Pioneers" demonstrating the rich creative culture of the city,  Helen was absolutely thrilled to have been nominated for her novels and short stories, some of which are set in Perthshire, Scotland.

Netflix to make The Kissing Booth

We are thrilled to announce that Netflix have ordered a feature-length film adaption of The Kissing Booth by the wonderful Beth Reekles.

The film will be produced by London-LA based Komixx Media and will be directed by Vince Marcello whose credits include Disney’s Teen Beach Movie.

Beth wrote The Kissing Booth when she was 15 and became a Wattpad sensation. The debut novel has received more than 19 million reads worldwide.
 

Debut breaks records at the Agency

Beth O’Leary’s debut title, The Flatshare, has scored an impressive amount of translation rights deals in recent months after being a smash-hit at Frankfurt Book Fair. 

As well as auctions and pre-empts, she has broken Agency records in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Korea, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. 

The Flatshare will be published in the UK by Quercus and US by Flatiron Books in 2019.

Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad series is being adapted for television, to be aired on BBC One.

The first two books, In the Woods and The Likeness, both New York Times Bestsellers, are being reimagined for the screen by Sarah Phelps who has recently adapted several Agatha Christie books for the BBC. 

Tana is taking a backseat on the production of the series, telling BookBrunch "I'm not involved in the TV production at all. I'm not a screenwriter, and I figure the best thing is to leave it to the professionals. There are some great people involved."

Production on the series starts next year and the BBC has promised to deliver "a contemporary world of psychological mystery and darkness with a tap root that is sunk deep in Ireland's past."
