COUNTRY AFFAIR
A NEW SERIES
FROM THE BEST-SELLING AUTHOR OF TALES FROM TURNHAM MALPAS, SET IN A
RURAL VETINERARY PRACTISE
It’s Kate Howard’s first day at the Barleybridge Veterinary
Practise she is more nervous than she can remember ever being before.
But her anxiety is soon forgotten a she finds herself flung headlong
into the hurley-burley of a busy clinic and loving it.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, particularly Scott the Australian
vet. But Kate already has a boyfriend, Adam, whose charms do not compete
with Scott’s. When she tells him she no longer wants to continue
their friendship his threats become very real and he begins stalking
her.
Concerned by Adam’s behaviour and at the same time tussling with
a decision as to whether or not to try for a place at veterinary college,
Kate, having initially resisted Scott’s advances, finds herself
drawn to him more strongly than she intended. It is her dedication to
the welfare of the animals and her new friendships in the Practise,
combined with the support of her father and stepmother that help to
resolve her difficulties.
