WRITERS MEAN BUSINESS 
Carmen Reid grew up on a farm deep in the Scottish countryside. As a result, she is slightly terrified of horses, cows and even sheep, but loves books, cities and fancy department stores.
Having decided to become an author at the age of eight, she's been writing ever since. Her early diaries (mainly about favorite jam flavours and which of her two sisters was the most annoying) are particularly riveting.
Carmen lives in Glasgow, Scotland, with one husband, two children, a tiny Jack Russell called Jimmy and three goldfish. When she's not writing, she's usually thinking about writing, which means that her children are used to asking her everything twice, very slowly and in a loud voice.
Carmen's first novel Three In A Bed was published in 2002 and went straight into the Top 20. She has been writing like a mad thing ever since! She is currently working on her new books series starring the much-loved Personal Shopper, Annie Valentine.
