Our writers mean business

C. D. Major

Cesca is a writer and vlogger. As an ex History teacher Cesca has always been fascinated by true stories from the recent past. She has written three novels – her debut The Silent Hours, set during WWII, was described as a “moving debut” by Women and Home magazine and The Times called Major “a talent to watch.” Her third novel The Other Girl, published by Thomas and Mercer in 2020, is a historical thriller perfect for members of a book club. It is set in an asylum in 1940s New Zealand and is inspired by a terrible true story.

Cesca is also comfortable in front of the camera and has vlogged about the writing process for Novelicious and the Writers and Artist’s website. She runs writing retreats twice a year in the West Country and teaches creative writing workshops on occasion. Cesca lives in Berkshire with her husband, son and twin girls.
